  Industry leader and innovator, Thais Gusmao, entered the playing field in 1996, selling original lingerie and lounge wear pieces in cultural fairs, fashion events and alternative stores. At the end of 1998, the first store opens in Brazil and the Thais Gusmao brand is then established as avant-garde and unique. Thais Gusmao was named best young designer and awarded the prize Premio Noite Ilustrada from Folha de Sao Paulo.
