    Academy awards 2012 !

    February 28th, 2012

As the nominees and winners settle down to debate who really deserved to win the Oscars 2012 we are more occupied with who walked the red carpet in style this year.

The Oscar night is when the Hollywood stars shine the brightest. As each one of those stars walked down the red carpet we catch a quick glimpse of their style. First up is the hot Hollywood Pitt pair. Contrary to the expectations the couple failed to get noticed much this year. Jolie turned out in asymmetric gown all in black with what looked like a plain look without jewels. Brad Pitt turned out in his Tux, long hair combed back he was too presentable with Jolie.

Moving over t Clooney and stacy pair. They were complementary o the red carpet. With stacy’s shimmering attire countering clooney’s typical black suit. Stacy’s earring is worth mentioning the collection of diamonds on it was ravishing.

Daring Viola opted to go green this season. The silk and crush combo worked well in her favor. The green earring and the bracelet were not the only accessories; the clutch was also another investment that the Hollywood hotties are ready to make.

Emma stone chose to camouflage with the carpet in her blood red free flowing gown. She resembled a bundle of red roses in that designer wear with a bow at the neck. Her neatly set hair and she over sized bracelet went well with the dress. She was one star who could not have been missed at the Oscars.

J Lo was stunning on the red carpet. In her patterned, shimmering gown with the designs congregating at her waist that dress looked as though it was sued on to her. The patterns were chosen to emphasize her curves which are her pride. J Lo was one actor everybody’s eyes were glued on to. And eyes popped when the actor turned to reveal the designer back.

Not many colours played on the ramp. The ladies chose to go with shades of crème while the guys stuck to the traditional tux. We will later declare the best dressed and the worst dressed on the red carpet after analysis so follow us.

THE FRUITY INFLUENCE ON FASHION IN 2012….

    February 6th, 2012

2012 or say the sweat & spicy year…. This time it’s not just solid stuff or flowery prints but we see the run way going hot and spicy, with a lot of prints influenced with fruits and vegetables and the turn of flowers and animal prints seems to be getting over. Hum….

This is sad cause what will I do with my flowers which I bought last season if I have to replace it with fruits and vegetables now. Mine!!!I can imagine myself in fruity cocktail dresses even smelling of them when I wear one. Like a strawberry print dress with the same smell perfume…wow…

The summer pallet this time says to go vibrant with, showed off tiny waists in corseted crop tops teamed with tulip shaped midi-skirts.

The fifties housewife made a return with pretty midi-dresses adorned with colourful foods and vintage style brooches.

Beside this if we see the runway Feminine and flirty pieces are set to make a comeback and ladies will get to play dress up by mixing their favorite day dresses with ladylike heels and bold, playful accessories.

Kate Moss stole the show at Louis Vuitton’s SS12 runway shoe sporting this ultra girly white lace and feathered dress, a cutesy hairband and ladylike shoes

The oversized Peter Pan collars, in-out waist to hip silhouette and frilly sweet accessories make me proud to be a girl.

High street store River Island also has a few exciting collections up their perfectly stylish sleeves, creating embellished corset and pencil skirt sets that embrace the sexy silhouettes seen on the runway. So people go high to look high class.

Bloomers are no longer seen as something your gran would wear, patterned bloomer shorts are paired with matching corset tops and bold accessories for the ultimate statement look.

With accessories wicker basket handbags and pasta shape accessories look glamorous. Fashion for 2012 is supremely self-indulgent. So don’t be afraid to clash all your favourite looks at once.

    Feminity & Seduction

    November 15th, 2011

    High Heels

Whether they be red, black, narrow or wide, the high heal has always been a symbol of femininity, even distinction. This surprising book reminds us that it is also an indispensable object of seduction for photography and for the photographer.

They can be warn timidly, small, associated with suits or vacation dresses. Or can be the fiery and bubbling display of fancy evenings or fashion shows. The high heel’s history – first warn by women in Ancient Greece – has always been related to photography. Some consider this extension of the female silhouette a superfluous accessory, where photographers in love with the body find an essential element to their graphic compositions. Through fashion photography, High Heels: Fashion, Femininity and Seduction reminds us that over the past few years, the object has transgressed fetishism, provoking a massive regain in popularity. Both for the general public and for fashion designers who rekindle the cult in their designs and images.

    Kinky Footwear

Many of you may have seen the 2005 film ‘Kinky Boots’ in which a failing Northampton shoe manufacturer turns to the production of high heeled boots (and shoes) for the niche market of drag queens and ‘men who dress as women’ (or transvestites as we know them).  Whilst the actual story told in the film has been embellished to make it more sexy, the shoe factory actually does exist and is still going producing both traditional brogues as well as their sexy stiletto side-line.

Shoe fetishism is the attribution of attractive sexual qualities to shoes or other footwear as a matter of sexual preference, psychosexual disorder, and an alternative or complement to a relationship with a partner. It has also been known as Retifism.

The Sex and the City episode, “La Douleur Exquise!” featured a shoe salesman with a shoe and foot fetish, who allowed Charlotte York to have expensive shoes for free simply for allowing him to assist her in trying on various pairs of open shoes whilst he openly complimented her on the state of her feet and offered reflexology. The relationship came to an end when Charlotte figured out she had been getting discounts because she was letting him hold her feet, and was further discomforted by the salesman obviously climaxing while assisting her with the sixth pair of the day.

    Men Wearing Heels to Club
We have been seeing articles about men wearing heels in the club scene around London and Los Angeles for some time now. This recent article hit the New York Times Fashion & Style section.

I hope this continues to catch on. While I wear more masculine styles in public I can’t wait until a man in bright red strappy 5″ stiletto sandals barely gets a second look, except to inquire where he found his shoes.

Do you have a fetish for high heels?

Celina Jaitley is one actress who is known more for her controversies and her cause for homosexuals than her acting skills and substantial work apart from Kangana Ranaut and Sonali Bendre. Recently, the actress has admitted that she is just crazy about shoes. Celina admits to having around 1, 500 pairs and for this, she plans to register herself in the Limca Book of Records..

Her fetish for shoes came out when she was shooting in Canada recently for Anees Bazmee’s ‘Thank You’. The actress had pain in her tooth and she went to the dentist for a root canal treatment. Then, she planned to visit the chemist to pick up some painkillers, but instead landed up at the shoe shop across the road. Giving in to her temptations, she ended up buying 11 pairs of shoes and went back to her hotel only to realize that she had forgotten to buy the medicines. No wonder, her close friends now call her Shoelina!

Celina confesses in her own words, “I must confess that I have a real huge fetish for shoes. Even though I have over 1500 pairs yet I crave for more and more. There have been times when I have left home to buy medicines and have ended up buying shoes!!!”

    Fashion’s next generation

    October 27th, 2011

Clementine Ralph, 16, from Gloucestershire, has been enlisted by George at Asda as the brains of fashion’s next generation.

The George team, based at George House, Lutterworth, called on Clementine and three other teenage trendsetters to help them design a stylish new collection for the tween girl market. The range called ‘Love 2 Laugh’.

George ran a nationwide search to discover four young budding fashionistas with a keen eye for design in July. This program was a booster for our young crowd. The search was supported by teen site SugarScape and appeared across the George at Asda social media outlets including Facebook attracting interest from hundreds of girls across the nation keen to become a ‘George Style Scout’.

Clementine made the cut to be part of the George ‘fash pack’, after impressing judges with her evident passion for fashion, her knowledge of catwalk trends and designers as well as their creative visions for the teen fashion genre.

As a Style Scouts competition winner, lucky Clementine had the chance to consult on the new Christmas collection, which is aimed at girls aged 9-16, and star in a professional photo shoot to model the first range.

Clementine said: “I’ve loved being a George Style Scout, working on the new Love 2 Laugh range with the George design team. I’ve learnt a lot about how a new collection is created, and I can’t wait show my friends the range and wear my favourite items out and about knowing I’ve helped create them.”
