The city entrenched with traditions and customs. Pattu sari is the tradition here which still is the same for women. The men wear shirt and lungi to keep up the old customs. Though the city has moved forward with the emergence of IT and fashion industry. People from various parts of India have come in due the opportunities available in this city. This diversification has given entry to night life, beach parties etc in the city happening every day. Pondicherry influenced by the French culture, known for the beach and a great tourist spot is also helping the designers in Chennai. They are getting a great platform to work upon as there are people conscious and tourist increases the fashion business. Chennai was chosen as the venue for India’s first International Fashion Event. That explains it all. There are a lot of designers in the city today. Chennai is a growing fashion hub and has a lot of scope for new designers with people becoming increasingly fashion conscious. The aim of the designers here today is to reach the international fashion show standards, which is even motivating models to grow and attain the standards, after all they represent all.
