Description : This is A Christmas Story, by Jean Shepherd - adapted by Philip Grecian. Scripts will be available for cold reading at audition. Children/youth will audition in small groups and will read parts from script.Any other information that needs to be included in the audition announcement. No singing or dancing required for this production, however, children's parts do require being a strong reader and the ability to memorize lines well.
Other Details : Production dates: December 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 8th, 9th, & 10th Audition date(s): Adult Auditions – Friday, September 16th @ DPA – 4:30pm-10:00pm (email info@cctplays.org for apt.) Children/Youth Auditions – Saturday, September 17th @ Carnation Elementary School – 10:00am-3:00pm (email info@cctplays.org for small group apt.) Walk-ins and open calls from 2-3pm on Saturday only. Audition Location: Friday – Duvall Performing Arts & Saturday – Carnation Elementary School Audition times: Friday – 4:30-10:00pm & Saturday – 10:00am-3:00pm Number of parts being cast: 4 Adults (2 men & 2 women) age range 30-50; 5 boys & 2 girls (with speaking parts) & 10 children (non-speaking roles) age ranges 8-12. List of characters: Ralph (as an adult) – Storyteller (age 30-50) Ralphie Parker – Ralph at age 9-12 Mother – his mother (age 30-40) The Old Man – his father (age 30-40) Randy – his little brother (age 6-8) Miss Shields – his teacher (age 20-40) Flick – his friend and classmate (age 8-12) Schwartz – a friend and classmate (age 8-12) Ester Jane Alberry – a classmate (age 8-12) Helen Weathers – a classmate (age 8-12) Scut Farkas – a bully (age 8-13) Children – classmates (ages 8-12) – non-speaking roles
