Air NZ pulls out of Fashion Week naming-rights deal

Air New Zealand has dropped its naming-rights sponsorship of Air New Zealand Fashion Week.

However, event organiser Pieter Stewart said the airline, which has been the event’s naming-rights sponsor for the past six years, would still be involved with the show.

“We’re still working with them and they [the airline] will still be very, very involved. But naming-rights level does carry with it a lot of things that they [no longer want] and we totally respect that.”
Neither party would reveal how much the naming-rights deal had been worth.

Ms Stewart would not say whether the fashion show was looking for a rights sponsor, or who that might be.

An Air New Zealand spokeswoman said the decision had been made as part of a review of sponsorship costs and the company was discussing how to stay involved in the event.
