FASHION MEANS BUSINESS

June 30th, 2011

I completely agree to this fact from the point of view as an entrepreneur, just seeing the competitive era of today, not only studying in a fashion college will take you far. Fashion and promotion are intrinsically linked so even fashion students need to move forward. Everybody is becoming conscious about designer brands, which is increasing competition. Also international fashion industry has entered in. It is very important to know how business works in real world to compete and provide customers with a branded product of the same level. Today the times have changed from made to measure (tailor made) garments to high fashion prêt-a-porter (ready to wear) available at stores and boutiques.
As a designer, if u have a famous brand/designer tag, a nice classy work place, your business booms. What about those who cannot afford so much…..how will they achieve their aims? Customers today have so many options that if u don’t attract them with proper planed strategy, they opt for other options..

So what’s the use of studying fashion course? And until we are not really filthy rich it’s hard to capture the trust of people as a known designer.

But I believe that even if we don’t have a strong financial back ground, by giving good quality product at affordable price, proper product promotion, and being loyal to customer with a pinch of creativity can take you high. The competitive era is making it a must for a fashion student (entrepreneur) to pursue management courses, as they can design the product as well as to sell it on their own, thus fashion means business.

THIS IS WHERE STYLING STARTS – CHANGE YOUR LOOK!!! 2011 HAIR-DO’S.

June 27th, 2011

Trends sweep in as an unstoppable storm, changing the entire glance of an individual. 2010 was with its own unique styles having side braid, two top knots, straight hair and so on. This hair-do revolutionize to a new look including more of messed up styles having braid top bun, half braided hair, double knot hair, birds nest bun, fringe bangs, pixie cut.

  • DOUBLE KNOT HAIR

Carry forwarding the same from last year’s styles, double hair knot is just as effortless and a simpler version of braid hair best suited for spring summer 2011 styled by Orlando pita for the Michael kors catwalks.

  • BIRDS NEST BUN

birds nest bun

The hair style evolved from the top knot style. Its little flimsy, little messy but elegant. The birds nest top knot is just an oversized knot. Try it out! First apply a little mousse on your mid length and end of hair. Blow dry the mousse into the hair. Pull the hair tight and make a high pony tail. Divide the pony in several sections and tease each section to create volume, them comb it even. Rap the hair evenly around the pony tail and knot it up. Pin your hair with bob pins to hold it. Finally apply hair spray.

  • HALF BRAID HAIR

The keys to styling the half up braided hairstyle is to create both volume and texture.

  • If you have straight hair creates gentle waves around your hair. We need very loose waves.
  • You should now have a head of lightly tangled, textured waves, now back-comb the hair but only a small amount – you can see from both the photos that this is a braided hairstyle that is more about texture then it is about volume. With the bottom half of your hair flowing free
  • Begin by separating the top two sections Next, take the larger of the two top sections and create a French braid along the head at a diagonal angle (e.g. from the part-line on the right side of the head back towards the left ear).
  • The braid should only reach about half way down the head, with the rest of the hair hanging loose. After you’ve braided your hair half way down, secure the end of the braid with several bobby pins, crossing them over to ensure they stay in place.
  • PIXIE HAIRCUT

This is a very short hair style which one would like to adopt in case you are seeking a change. It flatters every single woman regardless her age, hair and face shape. It’s a fresh and youthful haircut that even though it looks rather boyish it’s sexy and feminine.

A pixie haircut is really low maintenance hairstyles. You just must use some serum for shiny hair and separate locks. If your hair is straight, is the styling that counts probably the most and finally makes the distinction. Have some hair mousse applied on the length along with the ends of your hair.

Revealing your face, pixie hairstyles is all about attitude as you have to be completely confident in your facial traits.
