August 9th, 2010We’re not convinced when the whole wide world of Fashion gets the annual “memo” about what colors will take the runways by storm, but season after season; the huge tonal trends do shine through.
Like everyone else, we love fall colors best…partially because the shades go deep and dark, or alternately, bold and bright. But this fall introduced a few unpredicted contenders in the color category:

BLily Cole at London Gatwick Fashion Week
August 6th, 2010London Gatwick Fashion Week held its finale today, where two aspiring models met Lily Cole and won a contract from Storm Model Management.
The event was staged by Brando, increasing money for Great Ormond Street Hospital, and Event has exclusive pictures.
The show was the culmination of a campaign that had been appearing for one male and one female model.
Visitors to the airport’s North Terminal were treated to a catwalk show, and Brando upright a grooming area in which passengers could receive make-up hints and tips.

Hawko’s golden sirens come out of their ammunition for slick show
August 5th, 2010It was a golden opportunity and Myer ran with it last night with a summer fashion show that was big, attractive and scandal-free.
For years the department store has been in concert the not-so-glamorous little sister to David Jones. But that is altering. Last night’s show was modern, youthful and slick. Myer may not have the major names in Australian fashion hanging in its aisles but it has made some good buying decisions this season.
A superb triton shell sculpture crafted out of pine – the work of the architect Chris Bosse, who formed the Watercube for the Beijing Olympics – set the summer beach scene within CarriageWorks at Eveleigh.
