How to Master the Catwalk?

Model catwalk

The first thing that you must do is glance at the facts. Unfortunately, even though you may have the most beautiful face in the world, if you don’t have the body type to be on the runway, there is little to no chance of success. Runway models aren’t made, they’re born.

The minimum height requirement for female catwalk models is 5’9, and for males it‘s 5’11. Also, models are generally expected to fit into sample size clothes, which are typically made a size 2 or even a size 0. Although there are occasionally exceptions to the rules, these usually only apply if a model already has an exceptional print career.

Make sure you hold your body in a way that flatters the clothes. The easiest way to do this is to stand as straight as possible. If wearing a dress, it sometimes helps if you lean back slightly in order to let the material flow behind you. Let your arms hang naturally and let them swing only as much as your body naturally makes them. Keep your hands relaxed and no curled fingers as this will look strange from the viewpoint of the people watching the show.

Finally, remember to practice. It might feel silly walking up and down your hallway, but there’s no such thing as too much practice. It is also a smart decision to find some recordings of fashion shows, and watch how the models hold themselves. If you want to do something well, you might as well learn from the best.

Green Fashion Designs and styles

green

Green. Sustainable. Recyclable. Not exactly the first words you use to portray luxury fashion, right? At the same time, numerous clothing companies have been found on the principal of being eco-friendly.

Lots of questions are asked to understand a garment’s life cycle. “Where are the fabrics sourced? How are they produced? How far does the product travel? Is the cotton grown in Africa, weaved in India, then shipped to a store in California? What dyes are used in the process?”

Countless hours are spent on searching and developing textiles that are not only made from certified eco-conscious materials, but suited for high design. This is particularly impressive because the fashion design process is already grueling. And, no doubt, these steps added a lot of expense to production costs.

Return of the Old School Fashion

Old school Fashion

One might think that because of the growth that we have made in the area of clothing, we would not look back at our past. However, today we all see a resurgence of trendy fashion styles from the past.

Fashion has surely come a long way from the top hats and petticoats era of the past. Clothes today have turn out to be a great combination of aesthetics and function. Also, modern clothing styles are greatly influenced by certain models introduced by fashion, advertising, and stereotypes to make people look “sexy” or even “sexier.”

There are several reasons why people are bringing it back. First of all, this interest with the past has started with television

Well, the media certainly brought about the old school fashion resurgence. It was the spark that created the fire. The truth is, people are fond of old school fashion. It looks good and helps them reconnect with a past which was not as complex as the world today.

Reality, as always, has a way of differing what we all think. It appears that old school fashion is coming back.
