The Foxtel search is on for Australia’s Next Top Model contestants for the sixth series of Fox8’s hit reality program.
Potential models should be at Enex100 in the Hay Street Mall on January 24 between 11am and 3pm.
All girls wanting to enter must be older than 16 and 172cm or taller and be ready to strut their stuff in front of the judges.
Hosted by Sarah Murdoch, the show follows the transformation of young women into potential supermodels as they are initiated into the high-stakes world of modelling.
This year’s series was the most successful to date and Perth winner Tahnee Atkinson has since been signed to Australia’s top model agency Priscillas as well as an exclusive deal with Harpers Bazaar.
Who better to cast their eye over the girls and scour the country for the next top model than Murdoch and judges Charlotte Dawson and Alex Perry who will appear at various locations around Australia.
Curvy Atkinson, 17 from North Fremantle who attended Presbyterian Ladies’ College went head-to-head with edgy Cassi Van Dungen, known as ‘the bogan’ in the final.
Van Dungen and Atkinson and the other Top Model contestants had to deal with tough challenges ranging from photo shoots in remote locations and weather conditions, castings for Fashion Week, facing the press at a mock media conference to meeting UK’s leading modelling agencies as well as supermodel Elle Macpherson.

Top modelling tips
Breathe
concentration do enhances a good photograph, obvious attention can distract and often ruin a good photograph as well. Never hold your breath for a modeling pose; always keep in mind to breathe and come into view at ease.
Posture
Always keep your back straight and your shoulders up. Slouching affects the mood of the photograph and enlarges the appearances of your stomach. In addition to your back and shoulders, always consider to flex your stomach muscles.
Camera
Although camera is your ultimate focus for a modelling photo shoot, all models do not look directly into the camera.
Sitting Poses
when you are sitting down during your photo shoot—don’t think it’s ok to slack off. In fact, sitting photo shoots involve a lot of extra work.
Cleavage
To make sure your best assets shine, there are a few basic guidelines to follow. Based on two distinct poses, a forward lean and a backward lean, any model with any breast size can maximize cleavage. When leaning forward, either bring your arms together at your waist, keep your arms straight at the elbows and clasp your hands together below your waist, or simply cross your arms. When leaning backward, move up your arms about your shoulders and head, keep your arms apart, and always slouch for the best cleavage results.
Smile
If you have a naturally beautiful smile—show your pearly whites with pride, just not every time. If you smile in each modeling pose, modeling agents will notice your lack of versatility, not your smile. To add diversity to your modeling poses, try switching up your smile with a cute frown, a bratty bout, a friendly laugh, or even an edgy scowl. Your facial expressions can make or break your modeling poses. Let your smile show, but make sure to show what else you can do.
Portrait
It purely emphasizes the face of the model and depends mainly on facial features. In this the model will be in modest makeup and relaxed hair and should pose with a casual, genuine smile. Many portrait photographs are close up and emphasize details of the model’s face.
Movement
This captures the specific movement like running, jumping or walking. This pose is usually for promoting any market product with the movement of the model.
