At London Olympics, Stella McCartney becomes creative director for Team GB
The creative director for Team GB will be Fashion designer Stella McCartney at the London Olympics in 2012.
The 38-year-old will be overseeing the athlete kit for the Games in two years’ time, also the fan wear for the Team GB range by Adidas.
The final time a fashion designer worked with a brand on the kit was 26 years ago in 1984.
Speaking regarding the task ahead of her, she said: As a British fashion designer, it is an amazing, once-in-a-lifetime chance to be creative director of Team GB as the host nation of the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Victoria Pendleton, an Olympic winner, added: ‘I’m a massive fan of Stella McCartney and with London hosting the Olympic Games, it is actually important as the host nation to set the standards.
To have a British designer inputting into the British kit is going to be extremely special.

‘Project Runway’ judge Nina Garcia is pregnant
LOS ANGELES — “Project Runway” judge Nina Garcia is pregnant, Access Hollywood has corroborated.
The attractive brunette, 45, is pregnant with her second child, a rep for Lifetime, the network which airs “Project Runway,” told Access on Tuesday.
Garcia, the fashion director for Marie Claire magazine, is due in December.
In associated “Runway” news, the show returns to Lifetime with Season 8 on July 29 at 9 p.m.
Access Hollywood has also proved with Lifetime that beauty Selma Blair will be the celebrity guest judge for the first episode of the new series.
Previous celeb guest judges have comprised Nicole Richie, Lindsay Lohan, Victoria Beckham and most recently Faith Hill, who judged Season 7’s final collection alongside host Heidi Klum and fashion designer Michael Kors.

The stunning supermodel, Sessilee Lopez becomes “Model of the Year.”
The sensational, Sessilee Lopez* picking up her “Model Of The Year” Award in South Africa.
Lopez dazzled the crowd in a backless sequined number as she accepted the award with class and grace.
Hosted by the talented Bonang and Colin Moss, the ceremony took place at the Sandton Convention centre in Johannesburg, Africa. Somini, Rhythmic Elements, and Liquid Deep were among the various performers that kept the crowd entertained during the award show.
Top Makeup Artist was given to the legendary, Pat McGrath, and Edward Enniful of ID Magazine received Stylist of the Year: Edward Enniful.
Yves Saint Laurent, Azzedina Alaiia and Josheph Ettendgui received the coveted Lifetime Achievement Award.
