Project Red Dress event patterns itself behind ‘Project Runway’

Want to see what 12 aspirant fashion designers do with $200 worth of red fabric and a deadline? Check out Project Red Dress, Seattle’s wind on Project Runway, this Friday, June 4, at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel.

Established three years ago by local designer and fashion educator Monir Zandghoreishi, Project Red Dress aims to increase money for the American Heart Association — and shine a light on local fashion-design talent.

Taking a page from the popular Lifetime TV show “Project Runway,” Project Red Dress challenges a dozen aspiring designers to make a fabulous red dress in just 16 hours.

A cocktail reception commences at 6:30 p.m., and the runway show kicks off 7:30 in the Spanish Ballroom at the Fairmont. Tickets are $35 for students, $50 for common admission and $75 for prime runway seating and a luxury swag bag.

Gwen Stefani’s Style is enthused by her Husband

Gwen Stefani’s funky style is not all her possess. Gwen has said that she finds motivation for her clothing line, L.A.M.B, from rocker husband Gavin Rossdale. Gavin gives Gwen ideas for clothing designs and influence her work during his personal style.

The musician-slash-designer has always been fanatical with fashion even before she was famous. Gwen has been known to build her own clothes and stage costumes, mostly when No Doubt was just starting out.

Gwen’s new collection for L.A.M.B. is full of clothing that Gwen herself would desire to wear. She says it’s really very selfish in that way. The collection will be full of modern ’80s clothing interpretations in impartial shades with splashes of color.

Like Gwen, we’ve been known to snag a few things from our boyfriends also. Sorry boys, seems like your closets are about to be raided!
