Fabric Museum Hosts Harajuku Street Stylish Demo And Fashion Show

In combination with the exhibit “Contemporary Japanese Fashion: The Mary Baskett Collection,” the Textile Museum is hosting a show enthused by Tokyo’s Harajuku district, the city’s famous hub where youth and fashion intersect in trendsetting ways. It comprises looks inspired by Victoriana, Japanese animation and punk rock. Local skilled will give their approach on the topic, and there will be a tutorial on getting the look.

The celebrity designer Lindsay Lohan’s troubles as artistic counselor at Ungaro continue, the actress isn’t allowing sartorial play at the French fashion house slow down production of her own signature 6126 legging contour. Yesterday Lindsay took to Twitter to expose that she would be mounting the collection beyond hosiery, saying, “I need added followers i am so sad about this, how can i tell everyone about my 6126 full collection Coming Out! all clothing.” This morning, WWD validates that the extended collection will launch for fall 2010 and feature 100 pieces that range from $18 leggings to a $300 leather jacket. The following spring the line will grow even more, to cover 150 items, counting the handbags, shoes, jewelry and cosmetics.
