Introducing Willian by fashion designer Keia Bounds-Thompson


Willian a ready-to-wear women’s fashion business headquartered in New Jersey, utilizes a variety of natural and organic fabrics, frequently joint with vintage materials reworked into contemporary silhouettes.

Fashion designer Keia Bounds-Thompson, also proprietor, sought a sustainable fabric consultant. With her sweatshop-free and eco-friendly vision, Keia and partner James Thompson embraced 100% certified organic by natural and recycled materials.

Sustainable screen printing is an in-house touch one can discover in obscure places on some of the collection items. Most all the production takes place in their Hoboken, New Jersey studio where they do their best to decrease waste and have a low impact on the environment.

Upon graduation from Philadelphia University, Keia was bound for NYC, with three internships under her belt from Urban Outfitters, Cynthia Rowley and Gary Williams, she began her voyage. Her career began with Tracey Feith, Tommy Hilfiger and Ralph Lauren. In addition, she worked in film/TV and editorial as a key costumer and celebrity stylist.

BURTON TO OBTAIN OVER MCQUEEN’S FASHION’S HOUSE

Alexander McQueen (Picture) mourner A makeshift memorial grows at Alexander McQueen’s Manhattan store on the day the celebrated fashion designer was found dead at his London home, after supposedly taking his own life – just a week after his mother passed away.

ALEXANDER MCQUEEN’s womenswear adviser, SARAH BURTON, will replace the fashion icon as his namesake company’s creative director.

MCQueen devoted suicide in London in February (10).

Burton has been the designer’s associate for many years and served as head of design for womenswear at the fashion house up until MCQueen’s death.

In a statement she says she expects to “stay true to his (MCQueen) legacy“.

Fashion aide be successful late British designer McQueen

 

LONDON — A long-time collaborator of the late British fashion designer Alexander McQueen, Sarah Burton, has been chosen creative director of his label, owners Gucci announced on Thursday.

Burton has worked with McQueen since 1996 and was selected head of design for the label’s women’s wear in 2000.

The creation of modern, amazingly crafted clothes was at the heart of Lee’s vision. I propose to stay true to his legacy, she said.

Jonathan Akeroyd, president and chief executive of Alexander McQueen, said Burton had a deep sympathetic of (McQueen’s) vision.

McQueen, who rose from a modest background to become one of the world’s most flamboyant and high-profile designers, devoted suicide in February on the day before his mother’s funeral.

Robert Polet, the president of Gucci Group,
said it remained extremely committed to the Alexander McQueen Company which has proven to have strong customer loyalty and has shown to be a resilient brand in the aftermath of the awful loss of its founder.
