Ms Kara, 29, of Reading Road, works from a studio at the Newtown Business Park, designing mutually couture and easy-wear ranges.

She said: Fluidity speak to me a few months ago after one of my clients was in the shop wearing a dress of mine. They asked where the dress was from and it initiated from there.

“I’ve always wanted to sell in Fluidity because I love the shop and love their labels. I would love to stock my stuff somewhere else in South Oxfordshire but I think it will take some time.”

Ms Kara, who has a degree in fashion and textiles, takes tailored orders and also does house and studio fittings and alterations and can counsel customers on styles and fabrics.

Her clothes are made of high-quality materials together with silk, lace and Swarovski crystals.

Lebanese fashion designers reign supreme in spite of crisis

The top Western fashion designers suffered mostly when purses around the globe snapped resoundingly shut during the financial crisis.

However Lebanese designers, who hail from a land where Fashion TV is the channel of option at the swankiest bars, say they have managed to flee the impact of the crisis as of two things — affordable haute couture and rich Arab clients.

It’s fair to say that Lebanon just doesn’t do informal. High heels, form-fitting dresses and salon-styled hair are piece of various Lebanese women’s daily routine.

Renting a designer dress to wear at a wedding is far more satisfactory, than, horror of horrors, opting to purchase a common high-street gown.

So it’s no revelation that the country’s top designers became more famous for their complicated, long, sequined and chiffoned collections than classical ready-to-wear lines and their clientele continue coming back for more.

In fact Elie Saab, whose slinky, decidedly feminine dresses are a red-carpet beloved for numerous Hollywood A-listers, said his pret-a-porter lines suffered for a few months in the United States due to the crisis, and not his haute-couture lines.

Abed Mahfouz, whose clothes have been worn by Beyonce and Victoria Beckham, agrees.

Lady Gaga dared to Sing-Off by Newcomer Alisa Apps

Los Angeles based recording artist Alisa Apps has challenged Lady Gaga to a countrywide televised sing-off, with a cash prize of at least $1 million for the champion. As part of the sing-off, each artist would do a series of songs in front of a live audience at either Madison Square Garden in New York or the O2 Arena in London.

“I think apologetic for Lady Gaga – she’s just a plastic doll created by the music money marketing machine,” explained Alisa Apps. “I plunk for the voice of your spirit be real with me, come to my world and believe. I desire to hear you and for you to hear me. This contest provides people a chance to decide which they prefer – plastic or real.”

Lady Gaga has so far to accept this challenge. Perhaps she doesn’t desire to be shown up? Despite, Alisa Apps is determined to see it occur.

In recent months, Lady Gaga has expected a series of stinging criticisms.  Cultural critic Camille Paglia pertains to her as “a plasticized android.” According to fashion designer Antonio Bernardo, he refused to make clothes for her as he didn’t desire to be associated with somebody whose music is meaningless.

Alisa needs to heal people with her music. Sickened by the current state of affairs, she desires to bring back love, honesty and passion throughout her songs and her voice.
